There are so many channels and opportunities for marketing your brand out there, and we get it, it can be a little overwhelming. We wanted to run through some of the channels we use at Kickstart and explain what their purpose is. Hopefully after you read this, you will have a better understanding of which avenue to take depending on what you want to do with your brand!
On a higher level, you want to start out by defining your goals. What do you hope to accomplish with your brand’s marketing strategy? Take some time to define what your goals are before diving in. Next, you will want to research your audience and know where it would be easiest to reach them. Additionally, scope out your competition to see what they are doing and where they are doing it. This can help you get a little direction. Now, let’s get into the marketing channels.
Social Media
This one might seem a little obvious to people, but there is actually more that goes into it than you might think! Personally, we think everyone should be on social media! So if you aren’t sure where to start, that is a good place to do it! Beyond that, each social channel can serve a different purpose, and you should choose them based on what you are trying to do and who you are trying to reach.
Instagram is typically where most people are, and a good place to establish brand awareness and get people started on your customer journey. Facebook is typically for a more mature crowd, but is great for adding links to get more website visits. Twitter is good for showing off your brand’s personality and connecting with your audience. Pinterest is good if you are a crafty brand or looking to get your work out there and shared. LinkedIn is good for more professional brands looking to give insight into their industry and make connections. TikTok is good for showing off your brand’s personality, connecting with audiences, building brand awareness and getting people on your customer journey as well. TikTok is really only good if you have a service or product that can be used in video format. It is more silly/lighthearted and not the best place for more professional brands.
Blogs
Blog are a good for creating content for your website and your social channels. This is where you can provide helpful knowledge to your audiences and give them something worth sharing. You typically want your blogs to offer insight into your industry and help readers solve or accomplish something.
Email Marketing
Email marketing is good if you have an email contact list that you have gathered either from a targeted campaign, your website contact form or another place. Create meaningful email content that catches readers attention and encourages them to follow important links for your brand. This is a good place to announce sales or other important company news.
Social Ads
Social media ads can be useful for a variety of things. You can create campaigns for brand awareness, website visits, profile visits, conversions (like sales), post engagement, video views, lead generation, the list goes on. These are typically good for any brand no matter what you do. Social ads are a good way to get people moving on a sales funnel and let them establish brand loyalty.
Google Ads
Google ads are similar to social ads in that they can be useful for pretty much any type of brand. These are a good way to get in front of people searching for something in your industry. For example, if you are a women’s shoe brand, you want your name popping up first in a Google search when someone searches for “cute summer sandals”, right? Setting up a few Google Ads campaigns could also be a good start for your brand.
Web Design
Believe it or not, your website is a huge tool you can use to market your brand. This is essentially the “hub spot” for your brand where people come to learn more information and potentially contact you. You want to make sure that your website accurately represents your brand. You want visitors to be able to easily know who you are and what you do, as well as be enticed to contact you/hire you/purchase from you.
Video Production/Content Photos
Video and photo production is good to create content for your brand to use on social media, websites, digital ads and other marketing materials. This is another thing that almost any type of brand could benefit from, especially brand videos! Branded videos are a great way to provide information about your brand and allow people to get to know you.
Believe it or not, there are more marketing channels than what is mentioned here, but this is a great start! If you are wanting to improve your marketing strategies but aren’t sure where to start, give us a call! We would love to come up with a custom strategy that fits your brand!
