How to Update Your Google Business Listing

and Keep it Up-to-Date During COVID-19

COVID-19 has impacted our world and the business world in countless ways. You know this. We know this. Customers know this.

As you are re-opening (or re-closing) during COVID-19, be sure to keep your Google Business Listing up-to-date! Your customers and bottomline will thank you.

In this week’s Kickstart Your Week, we walk you through what you need to update on your Google Business Listing and how to do it!

3 Ways to Update Your Google Business Listing During COVID-19

  1. If you marked your business as “Temporarily Closed,” make sure you mark that you are open once you have reopened. Be sure to mark which services are you open for. i.e. If you are a restaurant that is open for takeout or curbside but closed to for dine in, you can reflect that in your listing.
  2. Make sure your hours and days you are open are accurate. This information will show up when customers “Google” your business or if they are looking for similar businesses on Google Maps. If your hours are inaccurate or your marked as close, you may loose out on business.
  3. Lastly, use the posts feature in your Google Business Listing to let customers know what to expect when you re-open. Will you require masks? What capacity is allowed? Do you have any specials or promotions to encourage customers to come in?
